The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas

I got a promo code for a FREE RedBox rental today so I went over to my local MickyD's and rented the movie "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas." This movie had a lot of good reviews about it and I totally agree with them on that one! This movie made me tear up about because they included some emotional distress about what was going on. Unlike other Holocaust I seen in the past, this movie focused on the non-jews' perspective on horrible stuff that was going on. I also found the child perspective on the whole situation quite refeshing.

Imagine yourself in the shoes of Bruno, the 8 year old boy noticing strange things that doesn't seem quite right. A kid who is used to an innocent world is faced with questions that doesn't even make sense and goes against his own father. What would you do if it was you?

The character I felt the most pain from was the mom who found out about her husband's horrible doing. In the movie you will see a how much that news affected her well-being.

Review: 4/5 stars

Boys Night Out

Last night was "Boys Night Out" so there was no point in me dressing up for the occasion since I wasn't there to impress anyone. My outfit that night to a trendy bar was a Threadless T-shirt, Gap denim mini skirt, Hue pink tights, and a pair of Converse with monsters on the tongue. For a soon to be 24 year-old, I still dress like a little kid at times. HA!

Yesterday, I made a trip out to Super Target yesterday to buy some yogurt and came back with some impulse buys. When I was walking around the cosmetic department I came across Almay's new line call Pure Blends (http://www.almaypureblends.com/Default.aspx) on special. For $5.99, I not only got one eyeshadow, but got two! Another plus to this purchase was having a $1 off coupon for the eyeshadow. The colors I got was Steel and Lavender, which are both really sheer and shimmery color. (top one is Steel, bottom Lavender)

Bottomline: The Almay Pure Blends eyeshadow line is good if you are light skinned and going for a natural look. If you are tan or dark skinned, forget about it! To me, using a shimmery eyeshadow on tan skin looks kind of funny, but that's just my opinion. Not Recommended for All.

MoisturizME

I usually have really bad skin since I was real little, so when it comes to skin care products I am willing to spend the big bucks! I am a big Origins fan, but I decided one day to try out other brands to see if there's something better out there. Well, the brand I picked to try was Biotherm because my cousin gave me some of their products to try. Biotherm isn't all that bad! I really like their Aquasource moisturizer (pictured above) because it gives me a non-greasy clean feeling and it kept my face moist all day long.

When I was traveling in Vietnam and Cambodia this past winter, I was experiencing extreme weather changes. For example, in Cambodia it would be pretty chilly in the morning but when the sun hits at it's extreme during the afternoon it would be really hot so my skin was getting beatten up. I was using my Origins light moisture lotion and I kept getting dry patches because it wasn't enough for my combo skin, so I went back to the Aquasource moisturizer and it repaired my face completely.

the Bottomline: I recommend this product to people with combination skin like myself! It only cost $33 for a 1.7 fl oz, really affortable for non-drug store items. The only downsize to buying Biotherm is having to buy it online in the US because they don't sell it in any retail stores.
